MESSAGE FROM THE HEADTEACHER

Dear Parents and Carers

We have a fantastic series of events planned for the Summer Term. The teachers have been organising visits and visitors to support the curriculum and ensure that our children always have a fun and enjoyable time. Summer is also the time in school when children are able to take part in extra sporting events both in and out of school so please remember to encourage your children to bring their certificates and trophies into school so that they can share their acheivements with everyone

Kind Regards

Mrs D H Ball, Headteacher

SAFETY WEEK

Please be aware that construction of the new housing development behind school is now underway and we want to ensure that children are extra aware of road safety rules.

Mrs Hall led our Safety Week this half-term, which we held in association with Jones Homes builders. A health and safety representative from Jones Homes, Tom Causey, came for a full day to deliver safety sessions to all the children on the subject of building site safety. The children did follow-up work in their classes and also entered posters into a competition organised by Jones Homes. Thank you also to our Y6 Road Safety Officers in school who remind the children about road safety throughout the year.

  ROWDY ROBOTS

Thank you to all the dads, grandads and brothers who helped the Year 3 & 4 children to build their Robots at this fantastic event. We have some great photographs! We will continue to run these events over the coming year as we had such positive feedback from all those who attended.

TENNIS TOURNAMENT

Our school hosted the Aston Cluster Tennis Tournament on Thursday 6th May. The children did really well in the doubles and singles matches. We are very proud of our team who came first in the competition. Well done.

CRICKET TOURNAMENT

Well done to our under-9s Cricket Team who represented the school on Monday 24th May at Aston Hall Cricket Ground. Treeton were runners-up in the competition - a big well done to the eight children who represented the school so well.

SATs WEEK

Well done to all the children in school who have worked so hard and tried their best in their SATs tests. We are very proud of all the children and we want to thank parents for all their support at home.

MARVELLOUS MAGAZINE TOY SALE

Well done to the children in Miss Dawes' Club, Marvellous Magazine, for their toy sale. The children in Year 3 & 4 raised money to finance their future publications by holding a toy sale. A big thank you to all the children who brought their old toys to be sold and also to the children who supported the sale as buyers.

CLUBS DURING THE SUMMER TERM

Our talented teachers offer a wide range of clubs after school to enrich and widen the children's experience and opportunities. Full details of clubs are shared with the relevant groups by the teacher leading the club. Below are some of the clubs available throughout school in the Summer Term:

  • KS2 French Club - run by Miss Rix

  • KS2 Cricket Club - Organised by Mr Roddison (PE Co-ordinator)

  • KS2 Magazine Club - run by Miss Dawes

  • KS2 Drama Club - run by Mrs Oxley

  • KS2 Tennis Club - organised by Mrs Walker and Mr Roddison

  • KS1 Football Club - organised by Mr Roddison

  • KS1 Gardening Club (new) - run by Mrs Hall and Miss Bates

SUMMER FOOTWEAR/SUN PROTECTION

Please be reminded that children's footwear should cover children's toes throughout the year. This is an important safety issue in school as the children run around on tarmac and use the steps onto the field. Shoes with open toes can lead to injury. Please remember to send your child to school with a sun hat during warm weather and plenty of water to drink.
